子供の時、これ物語を読みました。でも、今、読んだの時、ちょっとつまらなかったと思いました。桜のほうが風と太陽より面白いと思いますね。
I have read this book before, however, this time I don’t find it interesting anymore. But this is a book that easy to read.
西町交番のりょうさん「助けて！」
この本は面白いです。りょうさんは警察官です。りょうさんは、西町でたくさん人を見て、助けます。でも。。。その時は、小さい男の子の猫は高い木の上ですから、りょうさんは木に登ります。怖いですよ！だから、りょうさんが「助けて！」と言った人になりました。
If you are a novice at reading Japanese, then this is the book for you! The sentences are extremely short, and simple grammar can be identified/ understood (e.g. short form, te-form, 〜よ, quotations, casual “no” in speech, etc…) There is a plethora of images to baby-step the reader through the story and it is engaging till the end with light humor.

桜は綺麗ですね。この本を読んだから、日本にいくつもりです。日本でおはなみをしたり、友達とお酒を飲んだり、歌を歌ったりしたいです。桜の前で、写真を撮りたいです。日本に住んでいるのが大好きです。
I learnt about お花見 this activity. It sounds so amazing. I really want to go to Japan in spring and enjoy the beautiful natural scene. This book is easy to read and I recommend to people who want to learn about Sakura which tokens part of Japanese culture.
木村家の毎日：お正月
木村家のお正月休みは楽しかったですね。私の家族もお正月で家を掃除して、おじいちゃんの家へ行って、お年玉をもらいます。でも、神社がありませんから、行きません。この本を読ましたから、来年12月友達と日本に行きたいですよ。
This book introduces many Japanese new year traditions that I do not know before. It uses simple words and has lots of pictures. Overall it is a good book for first-year Japanese student.
大豆
大豆の本はかわいいでした。大豆はたくさん食べ物を作ります。本がすきでした。
The 大豆 book was cute. Soybeans can make many foods. I liked the book.
I recommend this book to people who want to learn about Japanese food. I was surprised by how many things derived from soy! Not only that but the book shows general instructions on how the foods are made.
「ただいま」木村家の毎日
この本は、日本人の家族について、とてもたのしいですが、 かんたんですが、いいです。
家族は二人子どもとお母さんとお父さんがいます。
二人子どもは家にお母さんの誕生日ケーキとサンドイッチを作りに帰りました。
お父さんはワインとプレゼント、家に帰りました。
買い物でしたから、おそいお母さんは家に帰りました。
一緒に、二人子どもとお父さんを歌いました。。。「お母さん、お誕生日おめでとう！」
家族は。。。とても元気ですね。にぎやかですよ！
I recommend this book because it is a quick and easy read. Furigana is provided for both the Kanji and katakana. If there is any confusion with vocabulary, the visuals give enough information so that it will be easy to fill in the blanks. This is a lighthearted little story with a plot line that progresses quickly. Best of all, at the end there is a funny surprise!

この本はとてもよかったです。 新しいぶんぽがあるから、ちょっとむずかしかったです。 でも、かんじはかんたんでした、だから本はとてもむずかしくなかったです。 ずはかわいかったですね。
I would recommend this book to any classmate! It’s clearly a children’s book, but the pictures are very cute and help the reader figure out what is going on before they even need to look up the new vocab. All the kanji has furigana, which is helpful, and the grammar is simple.
これは何の数？
とてもいい本でしたよ！私は早く読んで、わらいました。私はこの本を読んでよかったです。でも、文はとてもみじかくて、ふりがなの漢字がたくさんありませんから、むずかしくないです。
I enjoyed this book, though it was a bit too easy. It had some interesting facts and statistics about Japan and Japanese people, which were enjoyable, but the sentences were very short and simple. There was still quite a bit of kanji though!
西町交番の良さん『助けて！』
このストーリーはいいでした。私は好きでした。小さいねこはかわいかったです。こどもはねこが大好きでした。りょうさんはおもわりさんはいいしごとをしました。
I would recommend this short story to anyone, it’s an easy read. It’s about a good policeman. It’s really nice and how helpful a person can be to others and care for their well being.
木村家の毎日“お正月”
この本はいい本です。本のかぞくはお正月のでんとをします。私は年越そばやおせち料理やお雑煮のようなお正月の食べ物が好きでした。お正月のでんとは楽しいと思います。
I would recommend this book to beginner level readers. It uses a lot of beginner level vocabulary and sentence structures. It also teaches you about an interesting aspect of Japanese culture – how they celebrate the New Year.
