This book was interesting, and a little scary. The old man was nice, but the grandma wasn’t. There is a cute bird too. In this book, friendships is very important. There are a lot of pretty colors.
This is a very interesting book to read, would recommend this to anyone who likes folktales. The story is easy to read, with a couple of words to look up. The kanji we already know most from past lessons. 
一年生の時、私も舌切り雀を読みました。その時、この本の単語はちょっと難しと思いましたけどとても面白い話しと思います。いいメセージがいると思います。
I also read this book when I was a first year Japanese student, and thought the vocabulary to be a bit difficult. But the story was still very interesting.
