ソーピーと言う男の人はすごくけいむしょに入りたいです。スーピーさんが悪い事をした時、けいかんがつかまえないけれど、夜遅く何もしてない時つかまえました。それはちょっと変だと思いました。けっこう面白かったけれど、すごく何かまなんだ事がありません。
I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to read a simple interesting story. I did not think that this book in particular had one really inspiring message, unlike some of the other graded reader books, however, hence the rating.
とてもいい本でしたよ！ちしきとれきしがたくさんあって、面白かったです。れきしが大好きで、楽しくて、私はこの本を読んでよかったです。難しい言葉がたくさんありましたが、漢字がたくさんありましたが、いい本でしたと思います。
I would recommend this book. There were quite a few difficult words/kanji, as well as some grammar that we haven’t quite learned, but the extra challenge was part of what was so enjoyable! It was easy to figure out what that grammar meant, and words can be looked up. I enjoyed reading about the natural history of Mount Fuji, I liked having a slightly more challenging read, and I would definitely encourage others to try it out!
ある日、お母さん猫を見失ってしまった子猫はヨーへーと言う少年と出会い、ヨーへーの家族と住むことになる。でもお母さんが恋しい子猫は新しい家族を認識するまで時間がかかる。この本は、子猫とヨーへーの成長を描いていく。
Super cute book. If you’re a cat lover, this is a must. It barely has any kanji and has a lot of pictures so it’s perfect for beginners. Chi is surely going to win your heart!
子供の時、「となりのトトロ」という映画が大好きでした。だから、本を読み始まった時、とてもノスタルジックになりました。映画からの絵がとてもきれいで、キャラクターの考え方がもっとわかると思います。
I would recommend this book to people in lower levels of Japanese. It’s a familiar story, so it’s easy to follow, and there are very few kanji. It also provides a good opportunity to practice colloquial Japanese. The main characters are young children, so their dialogue is much less formal than most of what we study in class. And come on, it’s Totoro. We all love Totoro.
この話が大好きです。この本の中で、おばあさんは「ライフ」と言う店で花のたねが入った紙のふくろをおきました。ご主人が死んだので、おばあさんは悲しくて、さびしいです。ご主人は花のが大好きでしたから、花のたねが入った紙のふくろをおきました。そして人々はライフに入って、花のたねが入った紙のふくろと他の物を取って、花のたねがはいった紙のふくろと他の物の代わりに何かを残しました。みなさんは花のたねが入った紙のふくろと他の物のおかげで、うれしくなります。終わりが大好きです。とても大切なメセージは人々に何かをあげたら、ライフは美しくなります。
I totally recommend this book! Because it’s a Japanese children’s book the natural language can sometimes be hard to understand, but the pictures help a lot. This book has a very important message and will leave you feeling peaceful and happy after you have read it. I recommend it as a start for people who want to try another genre besides graded readers. Please read this book!
笑い話は四つ話です。おもしろいですよ。一つ話は子供がいます。かわいいですよ。二つ話はうぐいそのこえがあります。三つ話はけっこんするがあります。四つ話はいそがし男の人がいます。
I would recommend this story to first year Japanese students. It has four short stories that are easy to get through while still entertaining. For the most part, the vocabulary is familiar, and the kanji is not too difficult.
この本を楽しいでした．でも、”pt.2″は難しいです。たくさん漢字新しいですから。”Pt. 1″ のほうが “Pt. 2” より長いです。だから、猿の物語は早くて読んでください。この図はいつも可笑しいですよ. のは面白くて、色彩豊くて、よかったです。
This story is a clever one. True to the folktale genre, there are elements of joy, jealousy, fear, violence, and food that exist to create a literary landscape enjoyed by adults and children alike. One question that came to mind was if the message is distilled or made less “serious” by the presence of cute animals with emotive facial expressions. Indeed it seems unjust that the jellyfish should be the victim of any sort of violence, but when colorful fish are wielding the sticks it becomes almost comical. Maybe that’s where beast fables and folktales draw their strength: readers don’t expect profound messages to be hidden within these little stories, so our expectations when we approach these (as opposed to a physics textbook) might be more receptive.

桃太郎は私の一番好き本ですね〜桃太郎はとても優しくて、頭がいいですよ。おばあちゃんとおじいちゃんは親切です。犬と猿ときじは可愛です。でも、この本はちょっと長くて、難しかったですよ。
This is an amazing book! It is a Japanese classic folktale about a hero’s journey. I had a lot fun in reading it and I recommend it to everyone who wants to challenge themselves. Because there were a few hard words and I had to check dictionary all the time. But still, I like this story very much.

この本は楽しかったと思います。話しが面白買ったと思います。私は早く読んで、わらいました。ふりがなの漢字がたくさんあって、漢字を練習せる。文はとてもみじかくて、かんたんで、むずかしくないです。でも、文は1ページにたくさんありましたから、よかったです。
This was an enjoyable, though quite violent, book. I liked it quite a bit, especially how the two stories wove together. The sentences were pretty short and repetitive, but there were quite a few of them per page, so it made for good reading fluency/speed practice. I’d recommend it!
着物は日本の伝統文化です。この本は日本の着物と日本の歴史をがあります。着物と和の文化はとても綺麗です。大切な祭りの時、女の子と男の子は着物を着ます。夏の時、浴衣を着て、花火大会に行きます。でも、いろいろステップがありですから、浴衣を着るのが難しいです。私は着物を着るつもりです。
This book talks about Japanese traditional clothing. It alos introduces the history of clothing and some rules about how to correctly wear the tranditional clothing. The illustrations of clothing are beautiful. I would definitely recommend this book to my classmates.
