ジョンさん日本へ

この本は面白いです!レベル1の本ですが、難しくないです。でも、たくさん新しい単語があります。

ジヨンさんは日本に勉強しに行きます。飛行機で漫画を読んていました、そして、ゆきさんに会いました。二人は同じい漫画が好きと言いました。あとで、ジヨンさんとゆきさんは東京に会いて 一緒に歌舞伎に行きました。

Unlike many other Graded Readers book, this one has a clear and interesting story line, so it is easier to follow and read. I find it very helpful in applying what we learned in class as it tells a real life story. Also, it is a relatively easier Level 1 book and I would recommend this to 一年生 who wants to try some Level 1 books.

寿司・すし・sushi

This book introduces history of sushi, history of sushi and simple ways to make sushi. とても面白いです!I learned how to eat sushi in a correct way. Although I eat a lot of sushi and love sushi, I didn’t know how to eat it appropriately until I read this book.

Vocabulary and sentence structures are a little difficult for Japanese beginners, because it contains a lot of kanji (while it is easy to understand for Chinese speakers). But I think 日本語一年生 can understand the content with these cute pictures.

ハチの話

この本はあまり難しくないです。とても面白いですが悲しです。ハチは頭が良くてとても可愛い犬です。ハチは有名ですよ。私はハチが大好きです。ハチの映画も見ました。

I recommend this book to Japanese 110 students. It is easy to understand. It uses the sentence structures we learn in JPN 110 repetitively throughout the book, which is really helpful in terms of practising the grammar we learned. The vocabulary is mostly within our range, with few unfamiliar words that don’t impede the understanding of the whole story.

寿司・すし・SUSHI

この本は面白ですが、ちょっと難しくて たくさん新しい単語があります。

The book introduces how Japanese people make and eat sushi, the history of sushi, as well as different kinds of sushi. It does not include a plot in the storytelling, but it’s still very interesting to read.

I would recommend this to Level 1 Japanese students who are more comfortable with Kanji, since there are a lot of new Kanji and vocabulary in the book. It is a good practice as well as one way to learn more about Japanese culture. But even if you are not that familiar with those words, you can still get the basic idea from the pictures!

I also recommend people to read it after lunch or dinner because the pictures make me hungry and extremely eager for sushi…

笠地蔵

この本は大好きです。ちょっとちょっと難しかたですが、とても楽しかたです。たくさんかんじがあります。But most of them can be understood by the pictures and the context. I really love the story. Grandfather and grandmother are very cute and kind. It’s a touching story. Although it’s sad in the beginning., it has a happy ending. The pictures are pretty simple but well-drawn. Grammar is not difficult. There may be some grammar points that we haven’t learned, but the meanings are not hard to guess according to the context.

女の子

この本わとても面白いです。女の子はたくさんおもちゃ持っていますが、寂しいです。言葉を言いません。ある日、男の子は会いました。男の子は女の子に小さい花をあげました。女の子はしあわせです。

I recommend this book to first year Japanese students. I like the drawings in this book and the story is touching. We have learned most of the vocabularies in the book and it’s a good practice for me to read this book.

笑い話

この本はとても面白いです。たくさん笑い話があります。

日本語の一年生の皆さんこの本を見ましょう!

難しくない、つまらなくない、とてもいい本です。

タクシー

Taxi

このほんは、ちょっとこわいですが、面白いです。ピクチャーはとてもきれいです。でむ、むずかしいです。かんじがたくさんありますから。

This is a story about a young girl getting in a taxi at late night. However, it turned out that she died in a car accident and it was actually her soul. The story gets a little bit scary when I read that it was the soul, and also a little bit sad in the end when her mother was talking to the taxi driver. The pictures also help a lot. The watercolor drawings are really beautiful, and they really add to the mood of this book. The ending confused me a little bit when I first read it but it started to make sense when I reread it.  The book is hard for first-year Japanese students because of the vocabs and kanji, but it’s good to give it a try. I would recommend it to students who know lots of kanji.

寿司・すし・SUSHI

この本はとてもおもしろいですよ。たくさんきれいで、おいしいすしを見ます。

The book introduces various kinds of sushi in different areas of Japan, history of sushi making, and also talks a little about how to make sushi.  Pictures are cute and helpful. As a foodie I really enjoy the book!

招き猫:Welcome Cats

]

この本はとてもおもしろいですが、ちょっとむずかしくて、ちょっとながいです。この本はれきしのまねきねこ。それはしろいねこ。にほんがたくさんいます!本のねこのなまえはたまです。たまはとてもかわいくて、ちさいでした。たまとおぼうさんはとのさまをてつだいました。しんせつですね!おてらだ、かみなりだ、きがあります。この本を読んでください!

I think this book was really cute. It wasn’t too difficult, but was still slightly challenging. There was some vocab we haven’t learned, but it wasn’t hard to gather the meaning from context or it wasn ‘t essential to understanding the story. It was really interesting to learn the story behind the welcome cats you see everywhere in Japanese culture! I would definitely recommend this book to any cat lover/history buff.
