Due: Watching & Discussion Questions (not collected!)
- Webinar: Unsettling the Past (2hrs) [you can scroll down for the transcript too]
- Questions to consider to prepare for class discussion:
- (1) The speakers come from a range of disciplinary and personal backgrounds. Which speaker did you find to be most compelling and why?
- (2) What did you think about the grouping of these five speakers with such different perspectives? Did it feel coherent? challenging? confusing? exciting?
- (3) What was the biggest “take-away” for you after watching the webinar, specifically about archaeological knowledge creation?
- (4) Did you see any overlap between the “Grand Challenges” in Kintigh et al. (2014) and the topics discussed in the webinar? Other readings? Explain.
- (5) Do you have any pressing questions for the speakers? What would they be?
- (6) If you could join one of their projects– research, curation, art– which one would it be? How would you want to contribute or participate?
