Hello! My name is Kyla Butler (she/her), and I am a senior currently working at Meridians as a Quigley Fellow majoring in Africana studies and Government. I am passionate about exploring sociopolitical structures in the Caribbean and examining how colonial legacies continue to shape the dynamics of gender, sexuality, race, and socioeconomic status. My academic background and interests align closely with the Journal’s focus on feminism, race, and transnationalism. I am excited to deepen my understanding of the publishing process, engage with the diverse perspectives of the Journal’s contributors, and contribute meaningfully to advancing the mission of Meridians throughout the academic year.
